Goalkeeper

Marco Carducci (Cavalry FC)

Carducci was full value for his eighth clean sheet of the season as he made a number of brilliant saves and interventions to keep Halifax at bay. He was also crucial in helping Cavalry to play out of the Wanderers’ press, completing 93 per cent of his passes during the match.

Defenders

Diego Espejo (Atlético Ottawa)

Espejo was exceptional at the back against FC Edmonton on Friday. the Ottawa centreback won ten duels, had four tackles, four clearances and won four fouls during yet another clean sheet for Atleti.

Cristian Campagna (Halifax Wanderers FC)

For the first time this season, Halifax was able to keep a clean sheet against Cavalry and critical to that was the play of Campagna. He won all six of his duels contested, including two in the air, made two tackles and had five clearances.

Dominick Zator (York United)

Zator’s inch-perfect cross to Mo Babouli kick-started an outstanding second half at Starlight Stadium for the Nine Stripes. He was, as always, exceptional defensively playing in a new position as a left fullback.

Midfielders

Kunle Dada-Luke (Pacific FC)

Dada-Luke showed brilliant composure to open the scoring at Starlight Stadium on Saturday, and had another excellent performance despite his side’s loss. Defensively, he won three tackles, had an interception while contesting five duels.

Andre Rampersad (Halifax Wanderers FC)

In their 100th game as a club, it is only fitting that Andre Rampersad delivered another outstanding performance for Halifax. Rampersad won possession ten times, and was a perfect three for three on aerial duels and had three interceptions to help the Wanderers keep a clean sheet.

Shamit Shome (FC Edmonton)

Shome led Edmonton to an impressive clean sheet and performance in the nation’s capital, with a strong outing against one of the league’s best midfields. He completed 88 per cent of his passes, including 19 into the final third and had two successful dribbles during an all-round impressive match.

Brett Levis (Valour FC)

Scoring his second goal of the season was just part of a colossal performance from the Valour fullback against Forge. He had the most touches of any player on the park during the match, with 84, won possession back 11 times, and made three tackles and a stunning five interceptions.

Forwards

Kévin Dos Santos (York United)

The match transformed when Dos Santos was brought onto the pitch for the second half. The York attacker had three shots, two successful dribbles and five duels won as he helped the visitors take the game to Pacific in the second half.

Mo Babouli (York United)

Babouli has been a revelation for York since joining and was central to their dominant second half again. He had their opening goal against Pacific, which came on one of six shot attempts, four of which were on target. He also created three chances and had 23 passes into the final third.

Osaze De Rosario (York United)

Rounding out a trio of York United attackers in the team of the week is De Rosario. The Nine Stripes’ forward scored his tenth goal of the season, moving him into a tie with Woobens Pacius for second in the Golden Boot race.
