In his third month as a Canadian Premier League coach, Patrice Gheisar has been named the league’s Manager of the Month for June.
During the month, he picked up his first win as a CPL coach, 2-0 against Valour on June 10. Gheisar’s Halifax Wanderers also won three home matches in a row for the first time in club history this past month, defeating the aforementioned Valour, Cavalry and Forge at the Wanderers Grounds.
Halifax also drew against York United on the road and suffered their lone loss of a busy month against Atlético Ottawa in the nation’s capital. During June, the Wanderers also scored nine goals in five matches.
Gheisar joins Pacific FC’s James Merriman (May) and Forge’s Bobby Smyrniotis (April), as the league’s Coach of the Month winners so far this season.
