WATCH: Haber cruelly denied twice by the post

It was all so very close for Pacific FC striker Marcus Haber.

As the seconds ticked away in the first 45 minutes of play at Westhills Stadium, the 6-foot-4 Canadian striker nearly had a chance to give his team a 2-1 lead over visiting Valour FC, getting on the end of a delicious cross from left fullback Blake Smith and beating goalkeeper Tyson Farago with the leaping header, only to have his effort smack against the post.

Fortuitously, the ball landed back on Haber’s feet … but, less fortuitously, Haber’s follow-up effort in front of an empty goal also hit the post, rebounding out before being cleared by Skylar Thomas.

Pacific FC head coach Michael Silberbauer came to rue these two missed efforts, as Valour substitute Dylan Carreiro scored the game-winning goal in the second half, handing Pacific FC its first loss in the Canadian Premier League.
