CanPL.ca Poll: Who will be the standout CPL goalkeeper of 2020?

The rise of an exciting crop of young goalkeepers was one of the major stories of the 2019 Canadian Premier League season.

Marco Carducci was a key figure for a Cavalry FC side that won the Spring and Fall titles and reached the semifinals of the Canadian Championship (upsetting the Vancouver Whitecaps along the way). He also played a major role in helping the Cavs post the best defensive record in the CPL, with just 19 goals conceded in the regular season.

Little wonder then that Carducci claimed the CPL’s Golden Glove during an awards ceremony in Toronto last November, an honour that goes to the league’s top goalkeeper.

Nathan Ingham of York9 FC and FC Edmonton’s Connor James were also up for the award, after enjoying successful campaigns with their clubs, while Forge FC’s Tristan Henry wasn’t even nominated despite tying Carducci with a league-leading nine clean sheets.

The aforementioned goalkeepers are back in the CPL, but there’s also some high-profile newcomers in Callum Irving (Pacific FC) and James Pantemis (Valour FC).

All of which raises the question: Who will be the standout CPL goalkeeper of 2020?
