Atlético Ottawa’s Carlos González is the Canadian Premier League’s Manager of the Month for July of 2023.

Ottawa won four of the five matches they played during the month, defeating Cavalry FC twice (both home and away) as well as Valour FC and Vancouver FC. They allowed just two goals in July and picked up three clean sheets while scoring eight themselves.

González is the fourth different manager to be given the honour this season, joining Halifax’s Patrice Gheisar (June), James Merriman of Pacific FC (May) and Forge’s Bobby Smyrniotis (April). He was named the league’s Coach of the Year last season after leading his Ottawa side to the 2022 CPL regular season championship.
