CanMNT and 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying talk on OneSoccer Hangout

Monday’s OneSoccer Player & Pundit Hangout session was supposed to see HFX Wanderers FC coach Stephen Hart join the show to talk about a variety of topics.

But a scheduling conflict came up at the last minute and Hart wasn’t able to appear, thus forcing OneSoccer to quickly change directions, which they did with aplomb.

Instead of talking to Hart, OneSoccer hosts Kurt Larson, Adam Jenkins, Asa Rehman, and Oliver Platt did a special show on the Canadian men’s team in which they discussed a number of issues and tackled several important questions.

The OneSoccer crew looked ahead to qualifying for the 2020 FIFA World Cup, and what challenges the Canadian team faces in booking their spot in Qatar, including what would be coach John Herdman’s ideal starting 11.

Other topics discussed included whether Canada needs to make a goalkeeping change, what is Alphonso Davies’ best position, the team’s issues in central defence, and other selection headaches that Herdman faces.
