Canada Soccer announced on Tuesday that the Canadian women’s national team will be taking on Spain in an international friendly on Friday, Oct. 25 in Almendralejo, Spain.

The Spanish team is currently third in the FIFA Women’s World Rankings, and they won the 2024 Women’s World Cup. They also recently placed fourth at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Canada are sixth in the FIFA rankings at the moment, after winning all three group stage matches at the Olympics and bowing out in the quarter-finals to Germany on penalties.

This will be Canada’s fourth ever meeting with Spain at the senior women’s level. Their most recent matchup was a 1-0 Spanish victory in a 2022 Arnold Clark Cup match in England.
