CanWNT’s Buchanan named to FIFA/FIFPRO World 11 shortlist

Canadian women’s national team standout Kadeisha Buchanan was named to the 55-player shortlist for the FIFA FIFPRO’s Women’s World 11 Wednesday.

Buchanan is one of thirteen players with European club champions Olympique Lyonnais to be chosen. Over 3,500 follow female players voted for the World 11 based on last season’s performance, with the final lineup – consisting of a goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders and three attackers – set to be revealed on September 23rd.

Buchanan, 23, played all 360 minutes for Canada at this summer’s 2019 Women’s World Cup in France, scoring the winning goal in their tournament-opener against Cameroon. The Toronto native won the Young Player award at the 2015 World Cup in Canada.
