Cavalry FC Announces End of Season Roster Updates

On Thursday, 2023 Canadian Premier League regular season winners Cavalry FC announced their end-of-season roster update.

Marco Carducci, Ali Musse, Daan Klomp, Eryk Kobza, Bradley Kamdem, Michael Harms, Jesse Daley, Shamit Shome, William Akio, Myer Bevan, Sergio Camargo, Ethan Beckford, and Maël Henry all have guaranteed contracts that will see them with the club for the upcoming 2024 season.

“We have a high number of returnees coming back next season, following a terrific 2023 season,” said Tommy Wheeldon Jr., Head Coach and General Manager, Cavalry FC. “This continuity and chemistry will be important as we enter a new challenge with Concacaf Champions Cup starting earlier in February and then the subsequent defence of the Canadian Premier League Shield. ”

Cavalry FC has club options for three players and have until December 31 to activate those options for 2024. Those players include Fraser Aird, Tom Field, and Ben Fisk. 

The club has declined the 2024 options of Roberto Alarcón and Gareth Smith-Doyle, while the contracts of Sterling Kerr and Joe Mason expire December 31. Udoka Chima reached a mutual agreement with the club to terminate his contract. Cavalry FC would like to thank each of the players for their contributions to the club and wish them the best in their future endeavours.

“We appreciate the efforts of all our players this year, as everyone played their part in helping us win the regular season and ultimately earn a Concacaf berth,” said Tommy Wheeldon Jr., Head Coach and General Manager, Cavalry FC. “Joe Mason has been great for us over the past 3 seasons, and we respect his wish to return home to the United Kingdom. We would like to wish Joe, Roberto, Udoka, Sterling, and Gareth all the best as they enter their next chapter and thank them for their time with us.”

The club is currently in several negotiations regarding both contract extensions and new additions with updates to follow accordingly.
