Cavalry FC has signed 21-year-old English-Nigerian centre-back Udoka Chima to a multi-year deal.

The 6’3 central defender spent his youth within the Burnley FC Academy whilst the first team was in the English Premier League, before signing with Queen of the South FC of Scotland’s League One. Chima has international experience at the youth level, having appeared for the Nigeria U-19 national team.

“I’m very excited to be here at such a fantastic club with such amazing fans,” said Chima. “I can’t wait to get started and show everyone the passion that I have, every day I work hard to be the best teammate and to offer everything I can for this club. I’m very thankful for this opportunity and to show everyone the talent that I have through winning with this club. If there’s no risk, there’s no reward.”

“We’ve done a lot of extensive scouting on Udoka and have been impressed with his love of defending and his athletic attributes, whilst also being excited at the potential he has to further improve with us,” says Tommy Wheeldon Jr., Assistant General Manager and Head Coach. “On top of his ability, he has a big personality and is an excellent speaker, which is a rare trait these days. We have a great tradition of centre-backs that have come through our club, and we feel Udoka will further add to that depth chart.”
