The Canadian Premier League’s seven founding clubs have revealed more details regarding their local pre-season training camps, which began on March 1, 2019.

Following a month of training in their respective cities, each of the seven clubs will continue their preparations in the Dominican Republic, where they will have the opportunity to go through their paces beginning April 5, 2019, and where coaches and players will participate in a number of on and off-the-pitch sessions.

The CPL is working towards finalizing friendly matches with local professional clubs in the Dominican Republic and other parts of the Caribbean as the clubs near the official launch of the Canadian Premier League on April 27, 2019.

MEDIAPRO, the CPL’s official media partner, will be in attendance to capture media assets in preparation for their production of all 98 regular season matches.

The Canadian Premier League also announced Monday that Nike will be the official footwear and equipment supplier for the CPL’s seven founding clubs.

This partnership, negotiated by Canadian Soccer Business (CSB) on behalf of the CPL, will have players wearing Nike performance football boots.

The Nike Merlin will also be the official match ball of the 2019 season, which begins on April 27th when Forge FC meets York9 FC in the CPL’s inaugural match at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton.

“We are thrilled to have Nike be the official equipment and footwear supplier as we count down to our inaugural season,” said David Clanachan, Commissioner, Canadian Premier League. “Partnering with a leading soccer brand who sponsors some of the world’s best players and leagues is an exciting addition to our group of partners.”
