Canadian Premier League clubs unveiled their new 2021 kits Monday.
The Macron-designed “Community” designs arrived for all eight clubs and are set to be worn for the upcoming season – which is set to start in Winnipeg, Manitoba in a four-week single site season-opening stanza called “The Kickoff.”
Each 2021 kit features “a nod of acknowledgement and gratitude” to the communities the CPL clubs play in through a unique graphic, symbol, image, or icon that represents their home; Pacific FC’s 2021 kit, for example, features a series of horizontal lines inspired by ocean-surface gravity waves off the coast of Vancouver Island, HFX Wanderers FC’s blue-on-blue strip features a sublimated lion rampant similar to the one found on Nova Scotia’s flag, while Cavalry FC sports a design inspired by Fort Calgary and Colonel James MacLeod, a well-known Calgarian.
Elsewhere, Atlético Ottawa features a new front-of-kit sponsor with sports betting site ComeOn! which was named the CPL’s official sports betting and online casino partner earlier on Monday.
This season, CPL clubs have the option to wear 2021 kits alongside strips worn during the 2020 season exclusively at the Island Games in Prince Edward Island.
Each team-authentic jersey will be available online for purchase here for $119.99 CAD (Men’s), $119.99 (Women’s) CAD, and Youth $79.99 CAD. Fans will be able to customize each jersey with either their favourite CPL player or their own names and number for an additional $34.99 CAD.
Macron, one of world football’s leading apparel brands, has been CPL’s uniform manufacturer since 2019.
Below are all eight kits released Monday along with York United’s “Nine Stripes Edition” strip, which was unveiled in December.
