Spending the 2021 season on loan at Valour FC from MLS side CF Montreal, goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois takes 19th spot in the CPL50.

The 20-year-old from LaSalle, Quebec had a fantastic year in the Canadian Premier League, leading the league in saves (94), clean sheets (9), penalties saved (2), and near the top in most goalkeeping statistics.

He was a brick wall behind a Valour backline that needed him to be at times – an early season injury to Andrew Jean-Baptiste was a major loss for the club.

He began his time in the CPL at a record-breaking pace, earning a record six consecutive clean sheets in his first six matches.

Sirois was recognized for his strong season with the 2021 Golden Glove award, presented to the league’s top goalkeeper.

The young phenom made some fantastic saves in 2021, and will return to his parent club with an increased confidence that he can challenge for minutes there.

The rest of the CPL50 countdown is available here. Five more players will be revealed per day until December 22.
