Cavalry FC ‘keeper Marco Carducci continues a run of three consecutive shot-stoppers in the CPL50 after yet another solid year between the pipes in Calgary.
Carducci has been counted among the league’s elite goalkeepers for three years now, with the 2021 season being no different. The 25-year-old made 24 starts in the regular season for the Cavs, recording seven clean sheets in the process and helping his side to a 50-point season (level with Forge FC for most in the league).
The Calgary-born goalkeeper had some immense performances for his hometown club this season, including a phenomenal seven-save outing in a clean-sheet victory away from home against FC Edmonton which might be the best individual showing from a goalkeeper in the CPL so far:
Another Al Classico, another @CPLCavalryFC win ?
This one took some LATE heroics by Marco Carducci, too! ?

Carducci signed for Cavalry back in December 2018 along with many of his Calgary Foothills teammates, after an early career spent mostly in the Vancouver Whitecaps academy and reserve system. He was also the first CPLer to be called up to the Canadian senior national team back in late August 2019, several months before he won the CPL’s first Goalkeeper of the Year award.
The rest of the CPL50 countdown is available here. Five more players will be revealed per day until December 22.
