Following the 2023 Canadian Championship draw last week, Canada Soccer announced on Tuesday the official schedule for the preliminary round of this year’s competition.
The first round, comprising six matches including all eight Canadian Premier League teams, will run from April 18 to 20. A pair of Tuesday night matches will kick things off, as Canadian Premier League side Forge FC host FC Laval of Première ligue de soccer du Québec at Tim Hortons Field, and Major League Soccer club CF Montréal take on League1 Ontario’s Vaughan SC (both 7 p.m. ET).
On Wednesday, April 19, York Lions Stadium in Toronto will play host to an all-CPL doubleheader, beginning with Halifax Wanderers and Atlético Ottawa squaring off in a neutral-site contest (5 p.m. ET). Following that, York United will take to the same pitch against Vancouver FC (8 p.m. ET). League1 B.C. champions TSS Rovers FC will finish the night by hosting Valour FC at Burnaby’s Swangard Stadium (10:30 p.m. ET).
Finally, Pacific FC and Cavalry FC will wrap up the preliminary round with a meeting at Langford’s Starlight Stadium (10 p.m. ET).
The winners of this first round will move on to the quarter-finals, where 2022 finalists Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Toronto FC will join the remaining six clubs. The full bracket and preliminary round schedule are available below.
