FC Edmonton has acquired midfielder Bicou Bissainthe on loan from Pacific FC for the 2022 season.

The 23-year-old from Cap-Haitien, Haiti, played last season with Sevan FC of the Armenian Premier League. In 10 matches, Bissainthe scored one goal.

Bissainthe spent three years with the Haiti national team at the U20 and U23 levels, making seven appearances, scoring three goals for the U20 squad in 2018. Bissainthe also has professional experience with North Texas SC, in the MLS Next Pro league, making 16 appearances in 2019.

“We are very excited to welcome Bicou to our team and to our league. He has had excellent experiences with the Haitian national team and in Europe, and we look forward to getting him integrated into our team as quickly as possible,” said FC Edmonton head coach Alan Koch.

“He’s a versatile player who can play centre-back and also a defensive midfielder, and with our smaller roster, we will use him in both of these positions.”

FC Edmonton has started their 2022 Canadian Premier League season with two straight draws, and will play their first road match on Saturday, April 23 when they battle Forge FC in Hamilton.
