Forge FC cap off celebratory week at Tiger-Cats playoff game

The celebrations continue for Forge FC, who lifted the North Star Shield on Nov. 2 in Calgary following a 1-0 win over Cavalry FC in Leg 2 of Finals 2019.

Forge capped off the week on Sunday afternoon at Tim Hortons Field where they showed off the North Star Shield during the CFL Eastern Conference final playoff game between the Hamilton Tiger Cats and Edmonton Eskimos.

Coach Bobby Smyrniotis and several Forge players were on the field during a TV timeout and held up the Shield before an appreciative Hamilton crowd.

The Ticats, who like Forge play their home games at Tim Horton Field, beat Edmonton 36-16 to advance to next Sunday’s 107th Grey Cup game. They’ll meet the Western Division winner, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers

Coincidentally, the Tiger-Cats will have a chance to win the Grey Cup in Calgary, the same city where Forge beat Cavalry in Leg 2 of Finals 2019 to hoist the North Star Shield.

Earlier in the week, Forge were honoured by Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger, as Smyrniotis and a handful of players paid a visit to Hamilton’s city council.
