Forge FC trigger options for Castello, Duncan and Kalongo

Forge FC announced Wednesday that the club has triggered the options of midfielder Sebastian Castello, defender Malcolm Duncan, and goalkeeper Christopher Kalongo ahead of the 2024 Canadian Premier League season.

Castello, 20, has made 15 appearances for Forge FC across three seasons (2021-2023) registering 1 goal. Before signing his first professional contract with Forge FC, the 5-9 native of Mississauga, Ontario, was signed to a development contract with the club in 2020 as a youth prospect from Sigma FC.

Duncan, 24, signed for Forge FC on a short-term contract in 2022 before signing for the club in 2023. The defender has made 10 appearances for the club showcasing his utility across the backline. The resident of Toronto, Ontario, is a product of Sigma FC and previously went to Providence College making 86 appearances over five seasons (2017-2021) with the Friars.

Kalongo, 22, spent the 2021 season as a development goalkeeper for Forge before signing his first professional contract with the club in 2022. The goalkeeper has made three appearances recording one clean sheet across his two seasons with the club (2022-2023). Prior to Forge, the native of Oakville, Ontario, developed through the youth ranks of Sigma FC.

Forge FC currently has 17 players under contract for the 2024 season along with the club’s two U SPORTS Draft selections. The club is actively preparing for its Concacaf Champions Cup Round One match-up against C.D. Guadalajara as they continue preseason training in Queretaro, Mexico.
