Forge FC’s Bobby Smyrniotis named CPL Manager of the Month for October

Forge FC head coach Bobby Smyrniotis has been named the Canadian Premier League’s manager of the month for October 2023.

Under Smyrniotis’ guidance, Forge became CPL champions for the fourth time in five years last month, defeating Cavalry FC 2-1 in the CPL Final after a dramatic comeback in extra time.

The Hammers played two postseason games, both of them against Cavalry, and won both matches, improving to 10-2-1 all-time in CPL playoff action.

Forge ended their 2023 regular season in early October, finishing second in the league table with an 11-9-8 record and 42 points. Smyrniotis was also nominated for the CPL’s Coach of the Year award within the month, his fifth nomination in as many seasons.
