Forge FC captain Kyle Bekker has been named the Canadian Premier League’s Player of the Month for July 2023.

The midfielder led his side to an undefeated month, picking up three assists and creating 14 chances in four matches — including wins over Vancouver FC, York United and Pacific FC. Bekker has been included in the past five consecutive Gatorade Team of the Week squads — and has made a total of six appearances this season to date.

Bekker is the fourth recipient of the award this season, with Pacific duo Sean Young and Ayman Sellouf earning the honours in May and June respectively, and Valour’s Diego Gutiérrez for April.
