Defenders
Kunle Dada-Luke (Pacific FC)
Dada-Luke made a last-second acrobatic goal line clearance to preserve a point for Pacific FC against York United on Friday night. He also won 11 of 18 duels, won four tackles and made four interceptions.
Gianfranco Facchineri (Valour FC)
The 22-year-old central defender has become a crucial piece of the Valour FC backline, forming an excellent partnership with Tass Mourdoukoutas. He made seven clearances and completed 35 of 43 passes during a strong showing against Forge this past weekend.
Daan Klomp (Cavalry FC)
Against the league leaders on Saturday, Klomp was central to an outstanding defensive effort from the Cavs. He won five of nine duels, including four in the air, while consistently getting forward into dangerous positions — with 15 passes attempted in the final third.
Wesley Timoteo (Halifax)
The Halifax fullback was tremendous down the left flank against Vancouver FC on Monday. He created three chances on four crosses, assisting on the Wanderers’ first goal with a lovely ball into the box. He also won possession six times.
Midfielders
Andre Rampersad (Halifax Wanderers)
The Halifax captain scored his first goal for the Wanderers since 2019 — a moment which could prove to be a big rallying point in their season. He was outstanding in midfield as well, winning 10 of 13 duels — and possession 10 times while completing 44 of 47 passes.
Diego Gutiérrez (Cavalry FC)
The Cavalry midfielder is starting to round into some serious form, with a dominant display in the middle of the park for Cavalry against Atlético Ottawa on Saturday. He created two chances, won possession seven times, while making 11 passes in the final third.
Jorge Guzmán (York United)
Just two matches into his CPL career, Guzmán is proving to be one of the league’s premier chance creators. He added his third assist already on Friday night against Pacific, and could have easily had more with four chances created.
Ali Musse (Cavalry FC)
Musse came off the bench and instantly created magic for Cavalry on Saturday night. Making his first appearance since May after recovering from injury, Musse scored a second-half brace to hand the Cavs a significant victory.
