Pacific FC has taken over the third Gatorade Team of the Week at The Island Games.
As chosen by OneSoccer, the first XI features six Pacific players (Marco Bustos, Alejandro Diaz, Victor Blasco, Jordan Haynes, and Kadin Chung) after their team’s back-to-back wins over Valour FC and Cavalry FC last week.
Blasco, Diaz, and Bustos brilliantly orchestrated the attack for the Tridents, combining for four goals and three assists. Dixon was a standout performer in Pacific’s monumental victory over Cavalry, while fullbacks Haynes and Chung controlled the wide spaces in both victories.
HFX Wanderers FC midfielder Andre Rampersad put in an industrious performance against FC Edmonton, notching two assists and a match-leading five interceptions. Goalkeeper Christian Oxner’s massive penalty save in that match put him in the CPL’s weekly best XI, and he is joined by HFX centre back Peter Schaale.
York9 FC’s Joseph Di Chiara makes his first team of the week appearance after a brilliant stint on PEI, most recently marked by a brace against against Forge FC in the 905 Derby.
Forge defender Daniel Krutzen rounds out the team of the week after scoring the winner against Atlético Ottawa.
