The Gatorade Team of the Week for the fifteenth week of Canadian Premier League action in 2023, brought to you by Oliver Platt and Mitchell Tierney.
Goalkeeper
Triston Henry (Forge FC)
After making two saves in a 2-0 victory over Pacific FC on Friday, Henry earned his fifth clean sheet of the season, tying Valour’s Rayane Yesli for the league lead. His brilliant save on Manny Aparicio’s dipping long-distance strike, in particular, was critical to earning the Hamilton side a big road victory.

Defender
Daan Klomp (Cavalry FC)
Klomp did his best Dennis Bergkamp impression over the weekend with a cheeky spin and finish for the match-winner against Vancouver FC. He also completed 74 of his 75 passes during yet another match where he hardly put a foot wrong over 90 minutes.
GOAL! 🚨@CPLCavalryFC doubles their lead, making it 2-1 against @VanFootballClub, courtesy of Daan Klomp's impressive display of tricks before finishing the play.

Manjrekar James (Forge FC)
James was central to another clean sheet for Forge at Starlight Stadium, putting in an outstanding defensive shift. He won possession eight times, and made eight clearances while making 96 touches.
Daniel Nimick (Halifax Wanderers)
Nimick set up Halifax’s goal against Atlético Ottawa with one of the most stunning switches of play of the season. He also completed 87.3 per cent of his passes and made two clearances.
Midfielders
David Choinière (Forge FC)
Choinière played a key role in Forge opening the scoring at Starlight Stadium on Friday with an outstanding lofted cross into Kwasi Poku. He then added his second of the season late in the first half with a solid finish from out wide after getting on the end of a Kyle Bekker cross.

Kyle Bekker (Forge FC)
Bekker has been playing at a Player of the Year calibre pace lately as he makes another appearance in the CPL’s Team of the Week. The Forge captain had an assist, and created two chances and two dribbles, while completing 90 per cent of his passes and making four crosses against Pacific on Friday.
Lorenzo Callegari (Halifax Wanderers)
Callegari’s passing numbers jumped off of the page as always against Halifax with 80 of 88 completed. More importantly, he was key to the Wanderers winning the midfield battle, with two tackles and an interception.
Max Ferrari (York United)
Filling in as a left fullback, Ferrari was excellent defensively for York, winning 10 of 13 duels, four fouls and making two tackles as the Nine Stripes held on for a crucial three points in Winnipeg.
Forwards
Ali Musse (Cavalry FC)
Musse was pure Magic in Cavalry’s 5-1 domination of Vancouver FC on Saturday. The winger spun through the Vancouver backline to set up a goal in the first half, before some brilliant footwork and a weak foot strike to score himself. He also completed four dribbles during a highlight reel performance.
GOAL!
It’s really the Ali Musse show right now 🔥@CPLCavalryFC take a 5-1 lead against @vanfootballclub #CanPL

Théo Collomb (Halifax Wanderers)
You can’t hit a volley much sweeter than Collomb did at the Wanderers Grounds on Sunday, scoring the winning goal in his side’s fifth straight home victory, this time against Ottawa. He also should have had an assist after a brilliant delivery to Riley Ferrazzo and provided energy for Halifax up top throughout the match.
Pure class 🥂
What a stunning ball from Dan Nimick and a brilliant volley from Théo Collomb!@HFXWanderersFC go in front at home 🔥

Austin Ricci (York United)
Ricci had one of the best starts to a match in the league’s history, scoring a goal and registering an assist on Sunday before York’s match against Valour was even eight minutes old. He also made three interceptions, and three dribbles and could have had a goal of the month candidate should Yesli not have denied him late in the first half.
