Defenders
Daniel Nimick (HFX Wanderers)
The Halifax Wanderers kept a clean sheet on Saturday in a 3-0 victory against Vancouver FC and Nimick was a big reason why. The young central defender made six clearances, two interceptions and two tackles during a dominant performance at the back.
Tyr Walker (Atlético Ottawa)
In his first professional start, the 19-year-old was outstanding as a central defender. He won six of nine duels, made three tackles and four clearances as he filled in for the suspended Diego Espejo.
Wesley Timoteo (HFX Wanderers)
Timoteo has been in absolutely outstanding form of late for the Halifax Wanderers, and again put in a quality shift on Saturday against Vancouver FC. The left fullback had an assist on a clever ball over the top to Massimo Ferrin, a team-leading 64 touches and created two chances.
Midfielders
Kévin Santos (York United)
The York winger scored an absolutely stunning curling effort to get his side on the board on Saturday night in Hamilton and has now scored in back-to-back weeks. He also put in a strong shift defensively, making three interceptions.

Diego Gutiérrez (Valour FC)
The Valour captain led the way during his side’s incredible comeback victory against Cavalry FC on Friday. He set up their first goal on a perfectly weighted corner kick delivery, before scoring the equalizer from the penalty spot. Gutiérrez also created two chances and had a team-leading 72 touches.
Kyle Bekker (Forge FC)
It was another Player of the Year calibre performance from the Forge midfielder on Saturday night in the 905 derby, as he scored the opener before assisting Terran Campbell on his club’s second goal. Bekker also had four shots during the match as Forge drew 3-3 with rivals York United.
Kian Williams (Valour FC)
Williams’ quality and directness played a key role in Valour’s match-winning goal, as he cut in from the left flank and fired a dangerous shot from which Walter Ponce scored the rebound. He had five crosses in total during the match, and remains one of the most consistently dangerous players in Valour’s attack.
Forwards
William Akio (Cavalry FC)
Despite his side’s disappointing loss to Valour on Friday, Akio was incredible in his return to IG Field with new club Cavalry FC. The former Valour player showed the kind of attacking flair that made him a fan favourite during his time in Winnipeg, scoring the opening goal from a header before adding a second from a brilliant individual effort. He now has three goals in his last two matches.
Massimo Ferrin (HFX Wanderers)
Ferrin capped off a dominant Halifax Wanderers performance with a beautiful third goal. The tricky Halifax attacker also won four fouls and is now tied for the team lead in goals with Théo Collomb as he collected his fourth of the season.
João Morelli (HFX Wanderers)
With his family arriving in Canada this week, Morelli delivered an outstanding performance at the Wanderers Grounds. He scored the opener just five minutes into the match on a lovely volley, before stepping up to score a second from the penalty spot. He is now the all-time leading goalscorer in Halifax history with 23 goals.
The @HFXWanderersFC strike early 🔥⚓️
What a finish from João Morelli 💪 with his family in attendance no less, having arrived in the country earlier in this week!
