TOTW — Week 21

Goalkeeper

Chris Kalongo (Forge FC)

The Forge goalkeeper made five saves against Pacific FC on Friday to keep his third clean sheet of the campaign in a 2-0 victory.

Defenders

Dani Morer (Atlético Ottawa)

The Ottawa fullback was a catalyst in attack for his side throughout Saturday’s match against Vancouver FC. He created three chances, attempted five crosses and seven dribbles as he consistently looked to attack Vancouver FC.

Dom Samuel (Forge FC)

Samuel was outstanding defensively for Forge on Friday against Pacific FC, winning ten of 14 duels, and five fouls. He also completed two dribbles.

Ilias Iliadis (Atlético Ottawa)

Iliadis added yet another Olimpico goal to his collection, which stood as the winner in a 1-0 victory over Vancouver FC on Saturday. Playing once again as a left-sided central defender in a back three, he also created two chances and made two interceptions.

Themi Antonoglou (Valour FC)

Antonoglou is now the Canadian Premier League’s assist leader after recording his seventh of the season in a comeback 2-2 draw with Cavalry on Friday. He also had two shot attempts, forcing a good save from Marco Carducci early in the match, and created three chances.

Midfielders

Andre Rampersad (Halifax Wanderers)

The Halifax captain absolutely bossed the midfield on Monday against York United. He won possession a stunning 11 times, won nine of his 12 contested duels and completed 90.2 per cent of his passes on Labour Day.

Diego Gutiérrez (Cavalry FC)

The Cavalry midfielder continued his incredibly strong second half of the season against Valour, with four shot attempts, and three chances created. He also won possession eight times, winning three tackles and three interceptions.

Raphael Ohin (Valour FC)

Ohin scored just his second Canadian Premier League goal on Friday to kickstart a comeback 2-2 draw with Cavalry FC. He also won eight of 13 duels, and completed two dribbles during a strong performance in the middle of the park.

Noah Jensen (Forge FC)

Jensen put together an absolute masterclass against Pacific FC on Friday, scoring both of his side’s goals with incredible efforts from outside the box. He also created three chances during perhaps his best-ever performance in a Forge shirt, while wearing the captain’s armband.

Forwards

Ryan Telfer (Halifax Wanderers)

Telfer played a significant role in both Halifax goals against York United on Monday. He held up the ball well before playing in Riley Ferrazzo who crossed to Massimo Ferrin for the first goal, and played the corner which deflected into the path of Zach Fernandez for the Wanderers’ second. He was unlucky to not get one himself as well, with four shot attempts.

Massimo Ferrin (Halifax Wanderers)

Ferrin opened the scoring at the Wanderers Grounds on Monday during a 2-1 victory over York United, and could have easily added even more to his tally. He finished with four shots, three of which were on target, a chance created and was fouled three times.
