Canadian striker Maksym Kowal has departed Atlético Ottawa for fourth-tier German side VfB Germania Halberstadt.
Kowal, 29, signed with Ottawa just days before the start of The Island Games in August and made three appearances in PEI – including off the bench in the club’s opening game.
The Mississauga, Ont., native moved to the expansion Canadian Premier League club after a Golden Boot-winning League1 Ontario season with Vaughan Azzurri in 2019, netting 14 goals in 14 games.
Kowal has over 100 professional appearances under his belt, having played for a number of clubs in New Zealand, Poland, and England.
Best of luck to Maksym Kowal on signing with VfB Germania Halberstadt.
