Pacific FC alternate kit voted Footy Headlines Kit of the Month for April

The praise for Pacific FC’s 2022 Macron alternate kit continues to flow in. Over the weekend, the shirt was officially named April Kit of the Month by popular soccer blog Footy Headlines, winning an online vote to claim the honour.

Pacific’s kit, which they debuted at their home opener on April 10 against Forge FC, is a particularly meaningful design, having been created by local Coast Salish artist Maynard Johnny Jr. (Thii Hayqwtun), honouring the culture and history of the Indigenous communities on Vancouver Island.

The club has stated that they are honoured to wear the first Indigenous-designed jersey in Canadian sports history, hoping to use their platform to support and create more awareness of Indigenous culture throughout the country.

Shortly after the kit was unveiled, Pacific received an incredible deluge of orders — to the point that the jersey sold out of its initial stock almost instantly. Now, the international love for the kit has continued with this Footy Headlines vote. The Pacific jersey came first by defeating Italian side AC Trento’s 100th anniversary kit and Spanish outfit Real Betis’ special edition Copa del Rey offering — as well as another 13 jerseys from around the world released in the month of April.

Pacific FC’s 2022 Macron alternate kit — as well as the primary and alternate kits for all Canadian Premier League clubs — is available to order at CanPL.ca/shop.
