Pacific FC announce the departure of midfielder Manny Aparicio

It’s the end of an era on the Island.

On Monday night, Pacific FC announced that key midfielder Manuel Aparicio will not be returning to the club for the 2024 campaign. The 28-year-old had spent the past three seasons with the Tridents, with whom he won the CPL Final in 2021. He is a free agent following the 2023 season.

In all competitions, Aparicio made 78 appearances with Pacific, scoring ten goals and adding 11 assists. He was also part of the club’s first-ever Concacaf League campaign in 2022, which saw Pacific reach the round of 16 — where they lost on penalties to Costa Rican club Herediano.

Aparicio was nominated for the league’s Player of the Year award each of the past two seasons, while also finishing fifth (in 2022) and seventh (2023) in voting for Players’ Player of the Year. He was named to the league’s Best XI this past season.

Prior to his time with Pacific, Aparicio played 37 times for York United (then called York9), including captaining the side in the league’s inaugural match in 2019. Aparicio earned the designation of CPL centurion, having played over 100 matches for CPL clubs, this past season.
