Pacific FC midfielder Sean Young has been named the Canadian Premier League Player of the Month for May 2023.

The 22-year-old from Victoria had two goals and three assists during the month, with Pacific going undefeated. He also captained the side in a 1-1 draw with Valour in Winnipeg on May 20 — scoring a brilliant goal on a volley early in the second half.

Young was among the league leaders in chances created, shot attempts and possession regains in the final third, demonstrating the numerous ways in which his play has been crucial to Pacific’s success.

He is the second Player of the Month of the 2023 CPL season, afterx Valour midfielder Diego Gutiérrez took home the honour in April.
