Years after a move to Toronto FC failed to materialize, former Uruguayan international Diego Forlan reportedly has interest in giving Canada another try.
This time, though, the 2010 World Cup Golden Ball winner is looking at the Canadian Premier League as an option to complete his career.
How serious those talks are remains to be seen, but TSN 1290’s Ryan Brandt confirmed Sunday Forlan’s camp has been in touch with an unnamed CPL side.
Can now confirm 2010 World Cup golden ball winner Diego Forlán has in fact been in serious talks about a move to #CanPL. But he has offers elsewhere so far from done deal…turns out it’s more than just a rumour. pic.twitter.com/JsAmtiigDI

Forlan’s post-European club career has taken him to Brazil’s Serie A, Japan’s J League, Uruguay’s Primera Divison and India’s Super League.
The 39-year-old former Atletico Madrid star scored five times in seven appearances last season for Hong Kong outfit Kitchee Sports Club, telling reporters he’d consider “another offer” to see out his career.
