Sights and Sounds: Cavalry FC 2-1 Valour FC

Cavalry FC booked their ticket to the Canadian Premier League playoffs on Sunday afternoon with a 2-1 victory over Valour FC at Spruce Meadows.

Joe Mason had the home side up 1-0 going into halftime after a headed goal moments before the interval, but that goal would be cancelled out by Valour’s Billy Forbes, who headed home a goal of his own less than two minutes after the break following a perfect pass over the top form Sean Rea. A 1-1 draw seemed likely, until a moment of brilliance from Ali Musse won the match for his side. Musse picked up a cross from Roberto Alarcon at the edge of the penalty area, turned, and fired a rocket past Rayane Yesli into the top corner of the goal, one of the best goals of a CPL season full of them.

Here are some sights and sounds from Calgary, Alberta.
