Two-time defending CPL champions Forge FC recorded their first win of the season Sunday with a scrappy 3-0 triumph over Pacific FC in the ComeOn! Match of the Week.
Mo Babouli, Chris Nanco, and Tristan Borges’ second-half goals were the club’s first of the season and took a while to come, with both sides neck and neck on the field and on the scoresheet until the 70th minute.
The score, while one-sided, wasn’t indicative of play through an hour. Pacific generated a few quality chances through Alejandro Diaz and looked poised for a result. Babouli’s 70th-minute opener, though, changed that in a hurry. Nanco added a second off a loose ball in the box five minutes while Borges, five minutes after that, converted from the spot following a handball in the box.
Here are your sights and sounds for Sunday’s tilt.
