Brilliant Marco Bustos came up big for Pacific FC Saturday, taking down York United 3-0 with a beautifully worked brace.
The Tridents kicked things off with a bang in the Summer heat at IG Field in Winnipeg, Man. with a goal through Matteo Polisi in the 5th minute – his first professional marker.
Bustos kicked off a second with a field-spanning pass-and-move sequence that included a piercing through ball to Ollie Bassett. He followed up with another in the second half – a floating left-footed strike that beat the defender and ‘keeper.
York, on the other hand, struggled with injuries – Dominick Zator being the biggest absence at the back.
The result put Pacific top of the league standings with a 3-1-1 record (10pts). York, meanwhile, were left rooted in fifth with a 1-2-2 record (5pts).
