FC Edmonton took all three points at Clarke Stadium on Sunday afternoon, as they defeated HFX Wanderers FC 3-2 for their third win of the year.
Azriel Gonzalez put the hosts on the board first, but Samuel Salter equalized before halftime from the penalty spot. In the second half, though, the Eddies came out firing, and Tobias Warschewski scored two goals around the hour mark — the latter of which was an extraordinary curler from near the corner flag.
The Wanderers got back into the game late when Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé’s long-distance effort rebounded off the back of Darlington Murasiranwa and in to make it 3-2, but Edmonton managed to hold down the fort and prevent another equalizer.
