Sights & Sounds: United States 1-1 CanMNT — World Cup Qualifying

The Canadian men’s national team picked up a very valuable point away from home in the Octagonal stage of Concacaf’s FIFA World Cup Qualifying on Sunday night, drawing 1-1 with the United States at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium.

Getting to halftime with the score 0-0, Canada did concede the first goal of the game in the 55th minute as Brenden Aaronson finished to put the hosts in the lead. John Herdman’s side fought back immediately, though, as Alphonso Davies burned down the wing and found Cyle Larin for the equalizing goal not long after the hour mark.

Although Canada may have felt they could’ve scored again to grab all three points, they’ll be content to leave with a point from their first away match of this round of Qualifying. Herdman and several players said as much — they had a few good chances toward the end, but couldn’t quite pull in front. Still, it’s a very positive result for Canada as they prepare for their third match of this window, this coming Wednesday against El Salvador in Toronto.

Here are your sights and sounds from Canada’s 1-1 draw with the U.S.
