Smooth Commerce partners with Canadian Premier League

TORONTO (May 29, 2019) – Canadian Soccer Business (CSB), rights holder for the newly formed Canadian Premier League (CPL) in conjunction with Smooth Commerce, an industry leading consumer engagement platform provider, are pleased to announce a seven year partnership to deliver best-in-class, mobile-first experiences for sports fans. The partnership complements CSB’s acquisition in 2018 of sports technology provider Stadium Digital.

The CPL Centre Circle app is the first mobile product to market under the new partnership, delivering for fans a mobile native app experience that is highly engaging and personalized to fan preferences.

Launched at the inaugural match of the Canadian Premier League on April 27 in Hamilton, Ontario, the app allows supporters to follow their favourite club and access their curated home feed of the most relevant stories, stats, promotions and features.

At the core of the experience is the Centre Circle loyalty program and access to match tickets, where user engagement data and purchase data are leveraged to assemble the personalized fan home feed. The inaugural week of games saw a 63% adoption of mobile-only ticketing.
