Valour FC’s history-making goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois has been named CanPL.ca’s Player of the Week for the third matchweek of the 2021 season.
The 20-year-old Québec native has set a CPL record with his five consecutive clean sheets, this week managing to shut out Atlético Ottawa and Forge FC in a pair of 1-0 victories for Valour.
Sirois has made 16 saves across his five games, and he has yet to concede a goal or drop points in any matches. On loan from MLS side CF Montréal, Sirois has settled in quickly for Valour, giving them a rock-solid presence between the sticks.
Just three weeks into the season, Valour have already seen two of their group named Player of the Week, with defender Andrew Jean-Baptiste given the nod in Week 1. The Winnipeg-based club sits atop the CPL table after six matches with 15 points.
