Valour FC sign former Juventus striker Michele Paolucci

WINNIPEG – Valour FC announced the signing of Italian forward Michele Paolucci to a contract on Tuesday.

Paolucci, 33, joins the club from Tarxien Rainbows (Maltese Premier League) where he spent the 2018-19 season.

“We are delighted to add someone of Michele’s experience and proven track record to our ranks,” Valour head coach Rob Gale said. “He has shown a great interest in our club and the style of football we play, and we feel he is a great addition to our attacking lineup.”

Paolucci began his young career at Juventus (Italy Serie A) where he eventually graduated from their Primavera youth team in 2006. That season, he was sent on loan to Ascoli (Italy Serie A) where he scored six goals in 32 appearances. In 2007, Juventus loaned the forward to Udinese (Italy Serie A) where he remained a year before moving to Atlanta (Italy Serie A).

The 2008-09 Serie A season saw him move again on loan to Catania, where he scored seven goals in 28 starts. In the summer of 2009, Paolucci joined Siena (Serie A), signing a five-year contract. During his time there he was loaned out to Juventus, Palermo, and Vicenza before signing a new deal in 2014 with Latina (Serie B Italy).

After a brief stay at Latina, Paolucci moved to Romania and played with Petrolul (2015), then back to Italy with stops at Catania (2016) and Ancona (2017), Monopoli (2017-18) before a move to Malta where he spent time with both Floriana and Tarxien (Maltese Premier League).
