Valour FC forward Sean Rea has been named the Canadian Premier League’s Player of the Month for August.

In August, the 20-year-old picked up two goals and two assists for Valour, and earned the Gatorade Performance Of The Match twice in that span as well. One of his best performances of the season came against York United on August 7, when he picked up a goal and an assist in a 2-0 victory over the Nine Stripes.

Rea, on loan from CF Montreal, has been a standout player all season, and currently leads the league in assists with seven, one more than Pacific FC’s Marco Bustos in second place.

Bustos won the first CPL Player of the Month award of the season in April. Ollie Bassett of Atlético Ottawa won in May, former Cavalry FC attacker Aribim Pepple picked up the award in June, and Woobens Pacius of Forge FC won it in July.
