Vancouver FC midfielder Vasco Fry has been issued a two-match suspension by Canada Soccer’s Incident Review Body in relation to a challenge on York United FC midfielder Steffen Yeates during the meeting between the two clubs in Matchweek 1 of the 2025 Canadian Premier League (CPL) regular season.
The incident, which occurred in the ninth minute of the match on Sunday, April 6, was initially reviewed by the match official before it was sent to Canada Soccer’s Incident Review Body, which charged Fry with serious foul play and issued the suspension. Fry did not appeal the decision.
Fry will now be suspended for Vancouver’s upcoming home match against Atlético Ottawa on Sunday, April 13 and its trip to Cavalry FC on Friday, April 18.
