Forge FC are off to a stunning start at Stade Saputo on Wednesday night, taking a 2-0 lead into halftime during the second leg of their 2024 Canadian Championship quarter-final match with CF Montréal.
Kwasi Poku scored the crucial second goal in the 24th minute, latching on to the end of a lovely ball from fullback Malcolm Duncan before poking the ball past Sebastian Breza. Given a 1-1 aggregate score in the first leg, Montréal would need to score at least three goals in the second half to advance. CF Montréal have defeated Forge in the previous three Canadian Championship tournaments.
Forge went on to win the match 2-1, claiming the tie 3-2 on aggregate.
