Cavalry FC are on the board in continental competition after 2023 CPL Golden Boot winner Myer Bevan scored their first ever Concacaf Champions Cup goal on Tuesday night.
In the 64th minute of the second leg of their matchup against MLS side Orlando City SC, the New Zealand international redirected a low cross from William Akio past Mason Stajduhar and into the Orlando net.
The goal would ultimately be a consolation effort, as Cavalry fell 3-1 on Tuesday, and would lose their first round matchup against Orlando City 6-1 on aggregate. But it was a moment of history for the Alberta club, and a goal they aren’t likely to forget any time soon.
