In just his second month in charge of the Nine Stripes, York United’s Benjamín Mora has been named the Canadian Premier League’s Manager of the Month for July of 2024. Under Mora, York United went undefeated during the month, picking up victories over the Halifax Wanderers and league-leaders Atlético Ottawa, by a score of 4-1 no less, at home. They also defeated Cavalry FC on the road, and drew 1-1 with Vancouver FC in Langley. During the month, York scored nine times and conceded just four. They set a club record for most home wins in a season, picking up their sixth of the campaign against Atlético Ottawa. Mora is the fourth manager to receive the recognition this season, following Halifax Wanderers’ Patrice Gheisar (June), Atlético Ottawa’s Carlos González (May) and Forge FC’s Bobby Smyrniotis (April).
