York United head coach Martin Nash has been named the Canadian Premier League’s Manager of the Month for September.
The Nine Stripes went undefeated during the month, winning three matches and drawing once, while scoring nine goals across four matches and conceding just three. This included wins over Pacific, Valour and FC Edmonton.
It was just the second time in club history that York picked up three wins in a single month, which they coincidentally also did in September of last season.
Nash is the sixth different manager to be awarded the honour this season, as James Merriman of Pacific (April), Cavalry’s Tommy Wheeldon Jr. (May), Carlos González of Atlético Ottawa (June), Forge’s Bobby Smyrniotis (July) and Phil Dos Santos (August) of Valour all previously won Manager of the Month.
