York United attack Osaze De Rosario has been named the CPL’s player of the week for week 17.

The 21-year-old attacker scored a brace, his first brace of the season, in York’s biggest win of the year to date, 4-2 against HFX Wanderers in Halifax on Monday. He now has eight goals on the season, which puts him up into third in the league’s Golden Boot race.

York has now won twice in their last three matches, their first two away victories of the season. De Rosario will look to add to his tally when they meet Valour in Winnipeg on Sunday, August 7.

Osaze succeeds Pacific FC’s Marco Bustos, who was the CPL player of the week for Week 16. He is the first York United player to receive the honour this season.
