Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Canadian Premier League fans.
While you enjoyed drinking green beer and watching Irish-Americans on TV at home, our friends at OneSoccer were busy chasing the rainbow to find the luck of the Irish from Year 1 in the CPL.
They settled on Tristan Borges’ “Olimpico” at Tim Hortons Field last July.
A rare achievement in the modern game – a goal scored directly from a corner kick – coming from the league’s Player of the Year. It’s the CPL’s luckiest goal.
Now, I know what you’re thinking – was this “luck” or a stroke of genius?
It’s a debate worth having, apparently.
