Valour FC signs defender Martin Arguinarena

WINNIPEG Valour FC signed Uruguayan defender Martin Arguiñarena to a multi-year contract on Monday.

Arguiñarena, 27, joins Valour FC from Boston River in the Uruguayan Primera Division, where he spent the 2018 season.

“Martin comes to us with a vast amount of high-level playing experience and at the perfect age to not only develop his game with us, but play his best years here,” Valour FC head coach Rob Gale said. “Alongside his technical and tactical qualities, his leadership will be vital as we assemble our team.”

Arguiñarena joined Club Atlético Villa Teresa (Uruguayan Primera Division) in 2010, spending six seasons there. He moved to El Tanque Sisley (Uruguayan Primera Division) in 2017 before joining Boston River.

“I’m looking forward to the new challenge football has put forth in my career,” said Arguiñarena. “All I can promise is that I will leave my heart and soul on the pitch for the supporters of Valour FC.”
