Cavalry FC defender Daan Klomp has been named the Canadian Premier League’s Player of the Month for August 2024.

Klomp scored three goals during the month, including a brace on his 26th birthday on August 10 against the Halifax Wanderers in a 3-2 victory.

The central defender, who is the Canadian Premier League’s reigning Player of the Year, helped Cavalry to an undefeated month, with four victories and a single draw during August. For his efforts, he was included in four straight Gatorade Canadian Premier League Teams of the Week during the month.

Klomp succeeds Forge’s Tristan Borges (April), Atlético Ottawa’s Rubén del Campo (May), Forge’s Kwasi Poku (June) and York United’s Mo Babouli (July) as 2024 Player of the Month recipients.
