Marty Thompson – Digital Content Editor

Marty Thompson is a former broadcaster and reporter from London, Ont. who now serves as a Digital Content Editor of

Thompson has been covering League1 Ontario and other grassroots levels of the Canadian game for eight years, and is a longtime fan of Derby County, thus demonstrating character traits like patience and empathy in spades. He’ll need it when dealing with his co-host in the middle of a particularly heated discussion or two (or 10).

Thompson plays a ton of Football Manager. He’ll try not to incorporate it into his analysis (no promises), but, in true rural Ontario fashion, the Lion’s Head, Ont. native would also like to apologize in advance.

Charlie O’Connor-Clarke has been writing about soccer in Canada ever since his Grade 7 coach told him he’d be more useful off the pitch.

His first foray into soccer media was covering U SPORTS footy at Western University, and he first began writing about the CPL at Canadian soccer blog Waking the Red. He’s since joined the CanPL crew to help document Canada’s league.

O’Connor-Clarke’s long-awaited debut on the podcast came just hours after his beloved Aston Villa beat Marty’s Derby County to return to the English Premier League, but they’ve since moved past that testy start.
