Terran Campbell already of the CPL’s best goalscoring threats: The Next Gen Presented by Jones DesLauriers | Navacord

It’s hard to imagine Pacific FC’s all-time leading goalscorer as being the Next Gen – but that goes to show just how good Terran Campbell has been for three years running.

The 23-year-old scored 10 goals and four assists in 2021, adding to his 22-goal all-time CPL tally, earning a nomination for 2021 CPL Player of the Year and a CPL Championship in the process.

Campbell, who can play across the attacking front three, is a workhorse with and without the ball. The lumbering but technically sound striker can beat you in the dribble, in the air, and – as often is the case – with smart attacking runs that fool defenders and create space. Check out CanPL.ca and OneSoccer’s Kristian Jack explain that here.

His 2021 campaign solidified his spot among Canada’s best attacking talents plying their trade domestically. Campbell provided some massive performances in big games, too, scoring in three-of-four knockout games for the Tridents – including the opener in their CPL Playoffs semi-final against Cavalry FC.

All told, the Burnaby, BC native made 30 appearances across league and Canadian Championship play, posting the second-highest expected goals (10.21) in league play.

More goals, both expected and real, are on the cards for Campbell in 2022 and beyond as the young striker grows even more.
